Who We Are At L.A.N.D:
Landfill Avoidance the Natural Decision
L.A.N.D. bags came into existence out of frustration with what options were available when it came to reusable bags in the market place. Many reusable bags are made out of new materials and this does not make sense. This seems worse when made in another country and then shipped here. There simply did not seem to be a high quality bag Made in America that was also affordable, not that there aren't plenty of other good reusable bags out there. They simply don't seem to be affordable. In this day and age where it is common place to pay 5 bucks for a cup of coffee, a $20 handmade bag does not seem entirely unreasonable; especially when you will be using this bag for several years. Wasn't that 5 dollar coffee worth it?
We started this business with the mission that we would try to do our part in helping keep our planet from overflowing with garbage... Not all of the everyday items that we take for granted and simply throw away are completely without use. We feel it is absolutely neccessary to do whatever we can to stop this "throw away" lifestyle. L.A.N.D. bags is the first of, hopefully, many creative ways to both recycle and upcycle items that were once considered obsolete, into new and useful products.
Our bags are made out of recycled billboards that were at the end of their practical life as advertising. At this point, they are now waste. Their next destination is the landfill. That's where we come in. We take this "trash" and make reusable bags. Here at L.A.N.D., we can guarantee that this product is a great bag that is made here in America out of recycled materials. All of our bags are unique in their own special way. Some are more weathered than others, some are dirtier (we have tried to make sure they are as clean as possible before sending them to you, though you might find it necessary to give them a bath before use) this is the nature of using recycled materials.
By purchasing a L.A.N.D. bag and using it, you are keeping approximately 6-10 disposable bags a week, 24 disposable bags a month, 288 disposable bags a year, 22,177 disposable bags in your life time out of our landfills. We thank you and Mother Earth thanks you.
